In season two of the Tudors, young 'lady' Mary is seen wearing a jeweled 'head band'. I fell in love with the piece and so did a bit of research. What she is wearing is actually a necklace that could be worn as a head piece as well as a dress adornment. Unlike what we are led to believe about the Tudors, they were not rich enough to afford multiple pieces of jewelry and so interchanged them as dress or head pieces. I found this unique and fashioned this head piece similarly. To make it into a necklace, I need to shorten the clasp to create a choker or collar of sorts. Anyway, its based off of this image. [link]

I love The Tudors and this peice really fits into that era, as well as the TV show. It is just stunning. Fantastic work :D

I was such a big fan girl of the Tudors. Seriously. :D But my fandom began way back in history class when I learned of Henry and his six wives. That and Queen Elizabeth sparked my immediate interest.
And thank you for that compliment. I had fun making this...and will one day maybe wear it! ;)

I was the same. I became a big fan of anything Tudors when I was about 13. Anne Boleyn is what got me sucked into that era and since then, I just can't seem to get enough of anything Tudor related. I also have the same weakness for anything ancient Egypt as well (which I loved your braclet that was inspired by egypt for your mum, very stunning):D

Thank you for the man compliments. :D
I am not one for Egyptian mythology because they really didnt have that many females...though that doesnt mean I dont find it fascinating, now Greek mythology is more my thing. A friend and I are talking about doing a collaboration on Greek Mythology. I would make the inspired jewelry and she would maybe the inspired digital doll. Wont be for a while...but I am none the less excited.
The bracelet was a first for a few things. I have come a long way since then but its still a favorite. :D Its a bit big for my mom but she wears it with a certain sweater that can fit under it.
Anyway, thank you!!!

I love Egyptian mythology mainly because of Anubis and Bastet and I know a little bit about Greek mythology but I never had the time to dig into the mythology of it that much. I'm interested in it, but never had a chance to get really into it all. Do you suggest any Fiction books I might enjoy with Greek mythology in it. Also is Greek mythology about Zeus and mount olympus ect?

[link] -I read this book and its sequel. The third is coming out. Now, it reads quite a bit like Twilight so if you can get passed the similarities...its a great book. Quick 'Whats it about?' Chick finds out she is a reincarnation of Helen of Troy and past battle becomes a present one. The third book is due out soon.

[link] -Okay, read this one too. While this does not deal entirely with the Greek Gods, it does go into Posiden and Medusa. Oh...and its a great Mermaid book. :D "Quick whats it about?" Chick finds out she's a mermaid. Plain and simple. :D

[link] -My sister read this series. This is about Persephone and the Gods and Goddesses. My sister ensures me that the series is great. Oh, its a modern and historical...?

[link] -I read this one. This is a great retelling of the tale of Persephone and Hades. Very well done and you can actually believe that they loved each other. If I were to suggest one...this would be it. Also...this is not a present story but one based waaaaaay back in that time frame.

[link] -I read this as well. ;) This is another great take on the whole Persephone and Hades tale but with a mix. :D The ending is awesome and one you dont expect. Again...its a series. :D

These are the only few examples I can think of right now. Tell me what you think!

Thanks for all the book links Ash

I have Starcrossed and Dreamless by Josephine Angelini sitting on my bookshelf, but I didn't know that they were about Helen of Troy. I just bought them cause everyone kept telling me I had to read them, but I'm waiting for all the books to be released before I start reading the series. Isn't their just the last book 'Goddess' (book #3) to come out next year?

Of Poseidon by Anna Banks is one my to be read read list on goodreads, but I haven't been able to buy it as of yet.

I've actually read The Goddess Test. Which I liked but not loved. I have number 2 waiting to be read :)

I didn't know about Radiant Darkness by Emily Whitman, so I added it to my goodreads account. I also added Abandon by Meg Cabot to goodreads as well, but I didn't know it was a Persephone and Hades tale. I thought it was a chic-lit type of book because Meg Cabot wrote 'The Princess Diaries' and other books like them.

Thanks so much for all the new books. If you ever need some new books to read, tell me what type your looking for and I will try and help with a few links :) Do you have a goodreads account? If you do, would you like to add me? Well have a amazing day Ash. Mine is coming to a close, but you have inspired me to do some art before I go to bed :D

You and I really are going to have to discuss our books that we read then. Cuz it seems like we both are book fanatics. No, I dont have an account on that website. I never had use for one and probably still wont. I go by word of mouth and or Amazon to find my next book to read. ;) But...I will definitely come to you for ideas! Dont be afraid to do the same with me! I think between the two of us...we have read tons! ;)

The third book is due out in January I believe. Its called Goddess. My advice, start reading Starcrossed. Did you read Twilight? The reason I ask, is again, Starcrossed is an almost replica to Twilight.

Abandon is my favorite Persephone and Hades tale. I liked how Meg Cabot really came out of her Princess Diaries shell and went all the way with this one. I think you will like it as well, not really chic lit. More mystery and suspence with romance thrown in. But, I also said that it was based off of Persephone and Hades...which helps. ;)
