Ever the Temptress,
Jane Russell was said to be the leading sex symbol in 40's and 50's Hollywood. Busty and sensuous because of her dark hair and dark eyes, she quickly became the perfect pin up model for the servicemen during World War II. On the question of what she thought about her apparent sex appeal, she said, "Sex appeal is good—but not in bad taste. Then it's ugly. I don't think a star has any business posing in a vulgar way. I've seen plenty of pin-up pictures that have sex appeal, interest,and allure, but they're not vulgar. They have a little art to them. Marilyn's (Monroe) calendar was artistic." Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell were very very good and close friends. Without even trying, Jane was and is, Ever the Temptress.

The Necklace: Jane had a natural beauty that strengthened her to defy the producers and MGM when they suggested that she wear certain 'outfits' or 'pose' certain ways. The pearls speak of her 'class' and 'beauty' while the black gems add to the 'dark and mysterious' quality that men found so arresting. The silver and black chain add an elegance that she naturally had.

Thanks! But then again...when hasn't something I have made with pearls looked good? (I sound conceited...but really...pearls always seem to bring out an elegance to a jewelry piece. :D )
I am glad that you think all the 'connections' make sense. I was kind of worried I was off my rocker a bit. :D

I didnt know about Jane Russell until my Mom told me to look her up. Then I found out that she was a famous actress AND the close friend of Marilyn Monroe. That took me a bit by surprise because the two ladies were very different from each other. ;)
This necklace is the most popular with everyone it seems. I was sure that either the Elizabeth Taylor or the Marilyn Monroe would be but I guessed wrong. Nothing wrong with that...again...it teaches me that my tastes dont necessarily run alongside others. :D
