Ever the Beauty,
Ava was a southern belle with a thick Carolina accent that made it nearly impossible for others to understand her. It was her beauty, a natural beauty, that first got her noticed by the MGM studios. In fact, "Louis B. Mayer, head of the studio, sent a telegram to Al: "She [Ava] can't sing, she can't act, she can't talk, She's terrific!"" She was hired to be eye candy. But, as beautiful women tend to do, she surprised them with her willingness to learn all of those things that they said she couldn't do. Ava has sense been labeled one of the most beautiful and talented actresses of the Golden Age. Even after her death in 1990, she still is, ever the Beauty.

Her Necklace: When I think of Ava Gardner, I always pictured these luxurious and dark colors. Golds and browns to cream colored pearls. All of them spoke "Ava" to me...but not separately. :D Because, as one knows, it takes many facets to make one beautiful. The necklace can be worn long or short. The short way spreads out into a dainty choker while the long way hangs down to form a thick but intricate center piece.

I've always considered Ava Gardner as a kind of dark beauty (way too dark for hollywood cheap glam), you captured this well in your piece. Bravo.

Thank you very much! I appreciate that comment and compliment.
I am glad that I am not the only one to think her too dark for the 'bimbos of hollywood'. :D Though, some of those women were pretty. What I like is that she was an average woman who was simply beautiful. Thats why I like her. :D

Smart that it is two necklases in one! Lovely design.
Personaly I'm not a fan of rich dark brown colors but I like this piece;) The color combo is really nice :)
It is a bit "look but do not touch" :D

:D I felt the same in a way. ;)
I could never really see myself wearing this...but my mom on the other hand? Now she would look DAMN fine in this. :D Older women usually can pull this sort of thing off better than young women. :D

Do you have any pics of this being worn? Because I would love to see this necklace actually on someone, preferably both ways!?! Either way it's worn, I'm sure it would be gorgeous! :)
